Developed from the EX-P3/A, the TIE Walker Mk II was designed to be the superior model to the TIE Walker and posses far more flexibility. Both of it's manipulator arms could be replaced with weaponry mounts or utilize a half-and-half configuration, the TIE Walker MK II was heavily armed and had far superior armor to the original TIE Walker despite looking as though it utilized the same cockpit module. The TIE Walker Mk II was originally designed to compete with Kuat Drive Yards' All terrain Scout Transport walkers which were beginning to flag against the Rebel menace, however the Walkers were not able to be produced in large enough quantities before the fall of the Empire. The Plans for the TIE Walker Mk II were "lost" along with the rest of those of the EX-P Series, these lost plans would turn up in the hands of a number of Imperial remnant factions and would continue the fight against the Rebellion-turned-New Republic.
