I always find there is one major challenge in my work flow that I dun have a solution for. When I draw everything in grayscale, it's easy for me to make something look detailed and correctly textured, but later it's difficult to re-add the colors to all those tiny detail and find a pleasing color composition especially in the transitions between light and shadow. When I color something, it's easy to find a pleasing color composition and do nice looking cast shadows for example, but it's very difficult to texture something nicely once the colors are there, since they become really messy. I have not found a solution for this yet c-c
This is the pro/con I observed at least.

Interesting to hear about how one can affect the other. I don't have the skill to understand completely but I think I get the general picture of what you mean. I think it might be one of your sharper drawings or cleaner not really sure. Shadow wise. I'm comparing it to Deep look for instance. It might be because of the light coming from inside though. Like the dark feel a bit darker. But the tongue doesn't have the texture on it that Deep look has. It still has that really nice squishy and lovely feel to it. Looks gorgeous and inviting
