The TIE Lunar was a rare craft in the Imperial military by virtue of having a powerful shields and a top of the line Hyperdrive, the craft was designed primarily for parades and shows of force than it was for actual combat. This did not mean the TIE Lunar was a lame duck, far from it as no expense was spared for this high quality craft which put them on par with many high performance craft and Sienar even turned to Lord Vader to assist in the process of making the TIE Lunar the best it could possibly be. In thanks for his effort, the specialized and heavily customized prototype TIE Lunar was gifted to the Sith Lord for whatever use the dark lord saw fit. Even after the fall of the Empire, these rare craft were highly prized and sought after the Imperial Remnant and collectors alike.
