An unfortunate space traveler crashes on an alien planet and meets a fate worse than death.
I was recommended to try a plant TF, and it made me think about a fairly obscure thing from classic 'who:
Varga plants are venomous plants native to Skaro that reproduce by transforming other creatures that get poked by their thorns. Daleks cultivate them and occasionally bring them to other planets to guard their ships and whatnot.
Decided to make it B&W for aesthetic purposes. (Also there aren't any color references of the plant!)
Spent a bit too much time on this early on, so I got bored pretty quickly and started getting skimpy towards the end. I'm pretty good at that.

They also serve a very poor important role in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio drama Masters of the Earth. The story is about the Sixth Doctor and his recently picked companion Peri, who had been Queen of Krontepp, but wasn't exactly of sound mind when taking on that mantle in that previous story (The Widow's Assassin), finding themselves separated from the Tardis on a Dalek occupied Earth about two or four years before the First Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara would liberate it from the Daleks. The two travelers in time and space would find themselves embroiled in a Human Resistance plot to overthrow the Daleks, knowing full well they can't really help them succeed without causing a time destroying Time Paradox.
If you have Big Finish website account you can currently buy it at a discounted price alongside the two other Post-Trial of the Time Lord Peri stories until the one minute before midnight of the 12th of June, U.K. Time. It's part of the sale of audio dramas starring Colin Baker to commemorate his birthday.

Funnily enough, those short-lived Doctor Who episodic point and click adventure games the UK version of the BBC website used to host had an episode where The Eleventh Doctor and Any found themselves in a paradoxical Dalek Invasion of the 1960's. In it, one of the aliens you had to avoid being killed by was, of course, a Varga Plant.
