Full name: Dashina 'Kensley' Madison
Gender: Female
Age: 4 & a half
Species: Stygimoloch spinifer
:Personality:
When it comes to play, no one does so harder than Dash! The competitive Stygimoloch loves a good challenge and a game to test her skills, with a love of ball games, especially soccer. Although despite her competitive nature, she isn't known to be the best sport, as Dash is shown to absolutely hate losing, usually throwing a tantrum if she doesn't get her win. Still, she's quite the one to beat!
While she has quite the tough exterior, Dash is known to be deeply insecure about herself, mainly her body, she often worries about things like her weight, worrying if she's too chubby or skinny she wouldn't be able to keep up in sports. She's also sensitive about her height, as Dash is considered short for her species, and is worried that might make her look younger than she is. She's also extremely sensitive about the fact that despite being nearly five years old, she still isn't fully potty-trained, and is known to be a frequent bedwetter. The idea of being humiliated on any of these issues genuinely hurts her dignity, so whenever any of it is bought up she tends to overcompensate with phrases like "Yeah? Well I'm still faster/stronger/tougher than you!" or even fight back viciously, the latter of which often ends with a time out for her.
Dash also has a complicated relationship with her parents, who've been pushing her to act in a more 'traditional' direction. This comes from her two older brothers whom she's very close to, and loves playing and competing with physically despite her age. Playing with her brothers has had her pick up a more tomboyish attitude from them, something her parents aren't the most fond of... and so they've been pushing things like pink stationery, pink school supplies, girly toys, and clothing containing skirts and dresses on her, many of which she's rejected in favor of wearing her brothers' old clothes. They're hoping this would make her act more girlish and feminine, their reasoning for this being "They just want a daughter this time, and not another son".
While she rarely brings it up, Dash feels incredibly hurt by that statement... "Just want a daughter...? Am I not... that?" She doesn't even hate everything girly, she actually likes some of it, she doesn't even hate the color pink. She just wishes she had more options to choose the life she wants. Thankfully the daycare is where Dash can let her colors and strengths truly shine, showing what she's truly capable off, and living the life she's always wanted! Dash is also immensely loyal to her friends, especially Clay, and is always willing to stand up and fight for them whenever they're insulted and/or made fun of.
:Interests:
Dash is one of the most athletic kids at the daycare, and is often the most active, she's usually seen playing outside at the playground, or at the sports court with other kids practicing scoring soccer goals, or landing basketball shots in scaled down plastic hoops. She's also shown to be quite good at roller-skating, and almost always arrives at the daycare doing so.
That's not to say that sports is all she's is interested in, in fact they don't even let the kids outside except on specific hours, so when she's indoors she just likes playing with toys or board games, but those with a competitive edge to them, ones which she knows she can score a win against someone! Dash even likes playing with other girls and their activities! The occasional tea party, dollhouse, or unicorn adventure, is something she totally isn't afraid to admit she likes.
Dash is also best friends with Clay, which one might think is strange. How could such a rowdy girl like her, be friends with such a quiet and shy boy? Some believe its because she finds him cute and has a crush on him, others think that its from a need to protect him, due to how vulnerable he is from being judged, her friends say she likes Clay because of how endearing she finds his talents and skills especially when it comes to art.
Dash will admit that "it's a little of everything..." whilst blushing.
:Quotes:
"Name's Dash! See if you can keep up!"
"Ha! I win again!"
"Argh! I... HATE... Losing."
"Oh you wanna FIGHT?! BRING IT ON!"
"Its TOILET training! The potty is something BABIES use..."
I made quite a few changes to Dash, firstly, I reduced the amount of pink-ish shades across her body, in order to make her yellows stand out more, and I also gave her a slight update to her coat pattern. Secondly, she has more horns, mainly on her snout and cheeks, but most of her outfit stays the same. Overall, I'm very happy with how this turned out!
After a bit more research, I learnt that Stygimoloch and Pachycephalosaurus, might have been the same dinosaur, just in different ages. But then again, due to where each fossil is normally found, this might not have been the case either, so Dash's a mix of both... she's the size of a Pachycephalosaurus, but with long horns like Stygimoloch.

I hope the parents love her despite that. Really makes her feel disappointed because of her likes and not meeting the parents expectations. Really want to hug her and tell her she has friebds in the daycare as well as her brothers who don't mind her personality and likes. Really want to see a future version of Dash and Clay where they are married with the little crush she has on Clay bloszoming into asking him out.
i can relate a little bit to her, as my parents wanted me to give up my passion for gaming, coding and baking and focus on school and colleges instead because of my "higher than average" IQ score; not to mention that i was a bedwetter until 15, and it was embarassing, especially when my school peers would pressure me into asking personal questions while forcing me to ue a lie detector app.
at least that part of my life ended 3 years ago.
(in case anyone is wondering, i didn't get into colledge like my parents wanted as i didnt even bother going. school gave me too much stress without dealing with my family at that point) (i also became a video game designer, and i code in python and some javascript)

It is nice getting to know Dash a bit more. It is even better to see how her character provides some valuable insight towards how, despite having the best of intentions, her parents are creating a foundation of insecurity for their daughter that may result in a lot of confusion as she grows older. (Parents, grandparents, caretakers, etc. tend to desire their children to fit within a set 'gender role'. However, especially when at preschool / kindergarten age, being told that they may 'not' be acting like a daughter / son is extremely confusing when the child is only trying to be themselves.).
Hopefully Dash is able to get some extra support from grown-ups in how she is a great daughter in just being who she likes to be. This will help her grow into a confident lady who embraces all of her best talents to really forward herself beyond what she was taught in school. Maybe, if her parents keep confusing her on what she is, she and Clay will grow closer and become 'Childhood Sweethearts' who can confide in each other to feel happy over being bullied / browbeaten into being more like something they both know they are not and/or makes them happy to be.
