Tidus flapped as hard as he could to slow his fall before crashing into the ocean water.
*BLOOOOOOOOSH*
He braced for impact, as he belly-flopped hard onto the water and his entire world was welcomed with pain all over his body.
“Grrrrbbbllblbl…”
*Plish! Plish! Pliiiish*
“Urrrggh!!”
His body felt weak. The rain pounded on top of him, hitting his body and tail. He lifted his tail as much as he could to keep his now slowly dim light tail to keep going.
“Nnnngh…can’t…c-can’t let it hit the water…”
The seawater below stung all over his body like a bunch of fires dancing all over him, and he cringed knowing he was getting weaker by the second. A flash of light struck across the sky followed by thunder shook what felt to Tidus the entire world.
“...Nnnngh…”
*KRA-KOOOOOMMMMMM*
He didn’t care.
“…Jack…”
He ignored all the pain and opened his eyes grunting to see Jack below slowly falling deeper.
“No…he doesn’t know how to fully swim or float…Jack…no…”
In a desperate attempt, Tidus reached out with his right clawed arm, and stared at Jack’s eyes as the two connected. Jack was pleading Tidus to get closer and it looked like Jack tried to struggle upwards, but he couldn’t really move a inch. He weakly tried to swim downward, but everything had started to sting, making him weak against the salt water.
“I…I can’t…reach…
…!”
He saw Jack was trying to reach for Tidus, however, his body was badly injured and he looked like he was on the verge on passing out as bubbles from his fall floated upwards to the raging sea. More bubbles flowed out of Jack’s mouth as he slowly sank lower and lower into the ocean water.
“No…he’s running out of air…I have to do something…anything…”
Tidus tried to dog paddle, to no avail. He tried to flap his wings.
*SPLASH SPLASH*
“No…”
The rain and the storm continued on as the waves got rougher...

What happened in this moment before?
