The Prairees had decided to descend down from their beach house on the hill to enjoy an evening of frolic on their small section of the beach. Peter was so excited that he couldn't wait for the other three! He laughed as he ran down the stairs and yelled "AHHHH!" as he dove into the ocean for a quick dip. After the other three grabbed their stuff and came down to the beach, Peter began to wade towards the shore, deflecting splashes as Micky kicked water at him from the shoreline in disappointment because Pete didn't wait for him. Then Micky looked past him to the big white caps that rushed in. The waves looked excellent that evening due to a storm that went slightly north of their house. He ecstatically grabbed his surfboard to run into the water, waded past the oncoming line of waves and hopped into his surfboard to catch the next set. Meanwhile, Peter laid out his towel and settled in with his guitar to play a bit of mood music for awhile which allowed the warm summer breeze to dry off his dripping fur. For a short time, he played Beach Boys while Micky surfed, then defaulted back to his favorites, like "As We Go Along."

Always the resident "dad" of the bunch, Mike had built a fire with driftwood they've stored beside the house because he knew that night soon approaches. Davy didn't feel like swimming or surfing with Micky tonight as he was nursing a broken heart, so he decided to stay beside Mike, who could always be relied upon to listen to his vented problems and offer advice.

When the last traces of sun had disappeared from the sky, the four friends gathered around the fire together to eat flame-toasted snacks, share stories and pass the guitar around to sing whatever suits them. Folk songs for Peter, country songs for Mike, pop songs for Micky, and crushing breakup songs for Davy. As the night wore on, more guitars and a cajon drum were brought down which burgeoned into a jam session of covers, silly songs, and improvised stuff. When high tide had claimed the fire, they gathered their gear and hiked upstairs to their house for the night.
