been gettin started on the journey of possibly making a game, so i thought as good a starting point as ever would be to 1. figure out the general story themes and 2. design the protagonist!
i imagine the world this game is in to be a bit dark, hush, and low key while at the same time being full of zany, loud designs, especially with themes of corruption pushing the madness to the surface even further.
so here’s alto! they’re a masked protagonist, and i gave them a base mask of a bunny shape since i thought it lent itself well to the feeling of being small, spry, and quiet. the cloaked, completely covered nature of alto is important, as i think lots of the story will revolve in the cracks of their mental barriers deepening severely, letting the contained madness inside flow out freely.
their bag is basically just a possessed guitar case that was shape like a coffin, hence the mouth along the side of it. this is mainly just cause i thought a bag that has a mouth would be cool, but also boosts the strange, offbeat feeling i want for this game.
