Yes, I named him after a former QB for my team, sue me
Born on October 3rd, 1998, Joshua Patrick Freeman was the only child of Johnathan Freeman and Jessica Greer. When Joshua was 8, his mother lost a battle with cancer, and passed away in 2006. Before she passed, Josh promised her that he would pursue what he loved and excel in it, that being football. His father, devastated by Jessica's death, left Josh to his grandfather, and moved to New Zealand, the family's homeland. His grandfather, Fred Greer, would raise him like a son, and eventually pushing him to be the best person he could. Josh would go on and break school records in track & field, and led his high school to their first playoff victory in a quarter century his freshman year.
He would meet Emily Gilmore his sophomore year, and the two would grow close, and eventually started dating during his junior year. The next year, he would get scholarship offers to play football at several D1 universities, and was leading his team to their first undefeated season since 1986. During the final game of the regular season, one of his offensive lineman intentionally missed a blocking assignment, allowing the defender to ram Josh in the back, fracturing several of his vertebrate and tearing one of his ligaments, ending his football career.
During his stay in the hospital, Emily never left his side, and the two grew closer as a result. He would go on to graduate, but woukd remain bitter about what happened during that final game that ruined his future for a long time.
