It seems Quick has found himself in a bit of a predicament. By the looks of it, the shark-man was petrified into stone by someone or something. Quick must have seen something he wasn't supposed to, unfortunately for him, no one ever bothered to mention to him how rude it can be to stare, especially when it comes to a particular kind of basilisk and gorgon. Quick must have been petrified relatively recently, this can be determined by the band worn around his dorsal fin running down the back of his head and neck while a ribbon remained loosely wrapped around his tail, it also appears that a few stone flakes are still chipping and falling from some of his joints. We may not know everything about what might have happened to the poor shark-man, but judging from his expression, he regretted his decision regardless…
Unfortunately, Quick sustained a little damage in what could have been minor mishap, losing a section of his forearm as it fell to the ground. However, miraculously Quick's detached limb somehow managed to stay relatively intact (albeit still losing one of his fingers most likely upon impact with the ground), so an experienced stonemason could reattach Quick's limb and finger easily enough, but there is still the problem with the shark-man's stance. Quick might have been petrified in a decent pose, however his position has left him unbalanced and at increased risk of toppling over and shattering. Even just a gentle wind threatens to turn him into nothing by rubble…
Perhaps someone whom stumbles across Quick would be willing to reattach his arm and give him a better structural base for him to be displayed inside their gallery. Or if someone with a particular talent for animating stone golems were to come across Quick, perhaps they would be interested in having a multi-hundred-thousand kilogram stone golem shark-man minion or servant. Quick would not like the idea of being a sentient walking mound of stone, but it is just barely preferable to being frozen in time for the rest of eternity…
Best not stick around for too long, the creature that petrified Quick might still be lurking around, unless one wishes to share a similar fate with the shark-man…
Have a decent day and stay safe during travels…
