Rats are wonderful! I currently have 5!

My girls get along with each other, but my boys don't. One hates the other one, so I have to keep them separate :(

In the rat care community, we regularly raise money for castration of males so that they can get along with each other and live in large numbers in a pack. However, there are risks with anesthesia... Our community allows us to adopt only castrated boys so that they will not be lonely in the future(
Oh! I've loved rats since I was a kid. I always tried to bring home street gray rats, for which my parents scolded me ha-ha-ha!

I wanted to get my boys fixed, but they both seem happier on their own. Sad because I got one to keep the other company after his brother died when they were 4wks old

I lost a couple to illness/genetic issues over the past year from this current bunch. I brought a rat home from the pet store that was pregnant (I didn't know), and she had 5 pups. 2 died due to genetic issues, 1 to infection. And their favorite dish... I think they really like chicken the most, so I make them plain chicken and they go wild 🤣

I also had a pregnant girl! She gave birth to 13 babies, but one died... It turned out that there was not enough nipple for him. I did not correctly, apparently, count the number of children and decided that there were 12 of them.

Mine loved sausages, and one adored sweets. They can't have sweets, so she tried to steal it
