Today was Greece's National Day, but I was too lazy to draw my demigod crow, so I did this instead since literally no one else thought of making stories like this of Greek God depictions from such a game that is Wizard101. If you remember the art I did of the Kraken from that same game, it was only a matter of time before I discovered there exists Ancient Greece depictions and ones that have most of the pantheon as gryphons or just anthromorphic birds and whatnot
EDIT (3/4/23): Just fixed some typos.
Looking to see what many places are like in different universes, I, Kage, find myself in Aquila; The Spiral's equivalent to Ancient Greece. Giving that I know a Greek crow that's literally a demigod, I investigate the area. Having gone to Greece in different universes to see some minotaurs, I know the area quite well, but in almost all of them, some citizens were ants compared to minotaurs, cyclopses, and other Greek Mythological creatures, I notice the stairway to Mount Olympus on my left. I climb it, and just a hour later, I arrive. Athena is nowhere to be found, not that it mattered to me.
I investigated the area further. There seemed to be a round seating area with a big hole in the center that let's spectators see what goes on in the arena below. Another level with a stairway both to the top, and down to what would have to be the arena on both sides. In the middle of it all was a statue of some deity from the looks of it. Looks like an anthromorphic eagle. Then, I find two areas, one on each side.
I head towards the one on my right which had a sun symbol of sorts. On my way, I grab some potions I brewed along the way and drink it. If only I hadn't been stupid enough not to label it as it was a shrink potion. It didn't take effect until 2 minutes after I opened the doors to what is said to be called the Sun Chamber by many. As I enter past the main entrance, I find myself shrinking at an alarming rate. I dash to the center down a few steps which thankfully no one else was around at. As I dash while shrinking, I make it to the central area about 5 minutes later. It seems to be battleground of sorts, giving the vicinity's round interior.
I was about to lay down in the area when suddenly, the doors opened. Loud booming footsteps can be heard coming from past the main entrance. They were getting louder and louder and the earth started to shake. Then, a loud bellowing voice boomed which was so deep giving my size now.
Oooooooh boy! Those Wizards sure packed a punch, but alas, it wasn't enough. Pity!
The giant figure reached his way into the central area, giving me a look at what he looked like. He head a lion's tail and some wings. I assumed it resembled a gryphon. But instead of an eagle head like normal gryphons, it was a rooster's head. He also wore attire a Greek deity would wear and a bow and arrow he had discarded somewhere just now as I couldn't tell what was above the central area other than the giant figure.
Well, Apollo you've done it! The giant spoke to himself.
"That's Apollo?" I thought to myself. Apparently, most Greek gods are like this here, which would explain the statue from earlier.
That Wizard sure packed a punch, but alas, it wasn't enough. Needed at least 2 more to even beat me. Going solo isn't really the brightest move. Oh well! Apollo then let out a bellowing yawn as he stretches his arms.
Maybe I should rest for now. I'm gonna need it to be ready for more when they arrive.
I would've gotten out of his path if I hadn't been stumped on how a universe made actual Greek gods gryphon-like creatures. Loud booming foot stomps got even louder. Then when I finally came to, Apollo's giant lion-like paw loomed over descending fast.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
Apollo had stomped me, completely unaware. I was crushed flat underneath his sole as he stomps to an area only accessible to him. It appears to be a small hallway leading to a bedroom I assumed was his. Inside was quite a bit of furniture, one of which was a large Ancient Grecian styled bed with the finest material out there similar to leather, wood for the frame, and many others far more stylish than any other. Above was the same sun symbol as the ones on what appear to be metallic gloves of sorts. Apollo then sat in the bed ready to rest for the night. As he checks his soles, he notices me finally.
Oh, he said. Looks like I have me a stowaway.
I was unconscious for most of the steps he took, being only able to tell where I was half the time.
And what might a tiny individual like you be doing underneath the mighty paw of the radiant Sun Lord, Apollo Bright One?
Apparently he had a last name, a first for me as they didn't have surnames, not even in real world tellings. Still, I could hear his echoing voice. And when I came to again, I could see his rooster face up close, his yellow eyes peering down at me, he was like a Titan to me.
"Oh, hi there" I said to him. "I'm just a traveler. My name's Kage."
Kage, huh? Apollo bellowed. That MooShu or something?
"It's Ja... Forget it." I replied having just realized how this universe works. "You wouldn't happen to have encountered a minotaur, would you?" I ask out of the blue.
Why yes mortal. Apollo replied. Zeus has like 3 of those or something in his chamber. They are common creatures here. But that is besides the point. What brings you here is what I ask?
I then said "Oh, like I said, I'm a traveler. I just found a big stairway so I was curious. I climbed up them and here I was." I didn't know how else to say it as I was still in shock upon what's even happening.
I see. Said Apollo. Normally those who come and see me expect a duel to see who is the better, though it could mostly be a test of strength to see who is worthy. But none are ever as small as a bug, let alone crushed underneath my very paw without me knowing in advance. Had you have been an actual Wizard, I'd have beaten you in that state in no time flat.
"Maybe I am one, maybe not." I replied. "Hard to say, really."
I see. Replied Apollo. Strange enough, you kinda look, in a way....cute looking under there. He blushed a bit.
"Thanks, I get that a lot." I blush as well.
Tell you what, little mortal. Apollo said. How about you spend the night with me? I am inactive all night. I didn't get the title of sun lord for nothing.
"I don't see why not." I answered.
Alright! Apollo bellowed. Not often do people get the opportunity to be with me, Apollo Bright One the radiant sun lord.
"Heh" I went. "Can I just call you Apollo?"
Fine by me, little one. He answered. Apollo then covers up for the night. If you want, you can climb closer to my head or chest
"That's fine," I answered. "Right here under your sole is good. It's rather cozy, oddly."
Very well. He replied. Now then, good night. Apollo had fell asleep for the night, and so did I.
The next morning.
Apollo yawns, which echoed and boomed all around the room.
Morning mortal. He said.
"Morning Apollo" I yawned.
Hope you slept well. I'm about to take you to some friends of mine.
"Ooh nice." I replied. "I suppose I would like to meet them."
Then it is settled. Apollo picks me up from his sole and places me on his shoulder. Hang on tight. Apollo stomps out of the room and then the entire chamber minutes later. As Apollo exits the Sun Chamber, he was stomping down the stairs, and then right to another stairway. He heads down the stairs moments later and in the center was another door. Apollo entered and stomped all the way past the hallway. There lies a statue on the side wall of another deity. This one resembles one that was buff, had different sized wings, and had a falcon head and had a giant hammer. I could only assume it was Hephaestus of all things. Thankfully no one else was around at the moment. Apollo then knocks on another door at the end of the hallway which later opened.
It's unlocked. Boomed a deep voice coming from the other side.
I'd like you to meet someone, Kage. Apollo said as he opens the door. And right before my eyes was a volcanic chamber with what appears to be a smithing room. Then in front of me was another one of thier kind.
Hail, little individual. The other giant's voice bellowed. Who could this one be in front of me?
To be continued.
