Keeping one's beard groomed is an important part of maintaining your veneer of sophistication, even when you happen to be a Rakshasa gnawed at by insatiable hunger for the flesh of those who would bargain with you. A lesser demon might succumb to their urges and embrace gluttony. But to be a Rakshasa is to maintain discipline and control over those unsightly desires, remaining composed and upholding an air of nobility even when your instincts scream at you to sate your ravenous urges upon the nearest creature in sight. Silken clothing and fine jewellery help the lion to blend in amongst the lambs. But above all personal hygiene is paramount; for none will stoop to do business with a tiger who does not have the decency to keep his face scrubbed of the blood from his most recent meal.
