we usually don´t analize a lot about plants, because they are there all teh time, they don´t look strange to us in the way that they are usual in our lifes and so, we are "used" to see em... but I love this picture, because it has a trully ilustrative sense to it, it totally and perfectly catches something that can only be get from watching a real plant, and that usually escapes our eye, and this is actually how strange and hallucinogenous is plant´s nature. actually, (And plase look over your plants twice after I say that) plants are a strange creature... their lifes turn around logics that surpases any possible logical about optimizing resources that we as creatures that live in a frenetic pace could think to use. thy are so beautiful so perfect and so so SO distant, it´s like their bodies were here, but their souls and minds were in some other dimension, they allow us to live the same planet they do, you can go and destroy a plant, but that doesn´t means that you could ever DREAM of owning the right to do so, they are there CREATING ALL THE BASIS FOR ORGANIC STUFF IN THE WHOLE PLANET so, very humble, and so very powerfull, we would perish without em... with no possible plan-B. they offer the hardest materials wood, and the softest cotton balls or flower pettals, all linked in a unknown private code of the purest and most perfect mathematicts, they sometimes recall me of minimalism pieces of art, they feel like they have been designed but they were never designed, thy are that perfect.
sorry I know it´s a tl-tr wall of txt but I trully like this piece, I don´t usually see a depiction of a plant that so correctly allows the viewer to enjoy of that touch of the old and so correct plant catalogs in the early times of biology... then they had no photos, but they managed to create a style on depicting animals and plants so specific that got to be "more realistic than reality itself" even currently, some biologist preffer it over real photo to recognice possible species from one another, I love that concept is quite powerfull.
in a nutshel, trully nice piece
