Story time!

On August 27, 1999. Richmond Tigers and Carlton Blues were practicing on the oval before the beginning bounce and something caught the eye of supporters in the stands. They noticed orange flickering just above the clock on the scoreboard, but only a few seconds later is quickly grew into a massive fire reaching about 4 meters high. The players didn't notice and soon the Melbourne Firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze before it got out of hand. I recall this as one of the most iconic moments in AFL history.
