I like this new series.
I like it very much.
Looking at Faust's pony art before she actually got hired to do the series, her pitch involved a lot more G1 ponies: http://www.mlptp.net/forums/mlp-dis.....-sketches.html
Looks like Firefly's personality was given to Rainbow Dash. Which is cool because I like rainbows and I love Pegasus ponies.

Yes, the new show is aaaaaaweeeeeesooooome. <3
Last show was LAME. Nothing cool ever happened. It was always shit like "oh noes, I lost my hair pin!" or "oh noes! we need to water the flowers!"
Now it's "FUCK YOU, I AM AN EVIL PONY TAKING AWAY THE SUN!! HAHAHA!"
I am of course fully qualified to evaluate these shows, being a former little girl and all. *salutes*

I don't recall that movie very much.. but I DO have quite a few memories of the first few episodes / pilot movie. I mean, it's a series for little girls, but the bad guy has black dragons formed out of pure hatred, and his minion is a goat-guy who looks like a cross between a satyr and the devil himself?
Yeah, 80's cartoons were awesome.

I bought one of these for a friend: http://www.mylittleponyjewellery.co.....ng.php?cPath=6
I took one look at those new designs and thought, "Powerpuff Ponies!"
Yeah, I'd like to see the Ponies save Townsville a few times.
Maybe they could take on Mojo Jojo and his anti-cuteness gun. Or battle the nefarious 'Him' and his evil Pony Penitentiary! All leading to the inevitable happy ending when the narrator declares: "The city is saved! Thanks to -- the Powerpuff Ponies!"
...And then I woke up.

I watched the video link Pie provided, below, and now I realize why "Powerpuff Ponies" popped into my head:
The credits say the show was developed by Lauren Faust -- who is married to Craig McCracken, creator of the Powerpuff Girls.
Mystery solved, Scoob!
P.S., Faust also worked on one of my favorite animated features, Cats Don't Dance:

Considering the number of males I know who love this new series, nah.

Amid was bitching about this on CartoonBrew.com
I saw it and was like "what?? This is better than the first series. Everyone has a unique silohuette and more expressive personality, and they've turn the dark plots up to eleven!"
Also the few boy ponies they've shown so far actually look like male horses. Go figure, character design! I was expecting something obviously lacking budget and energy but this actually seems to be about as good as MLP could get!
So if Transformers can pull off some amazing stories out of what's essentially a 22 minute toy commercial, then I think MLP can be just as dramatic and creative. AND it's for girls. Say what you want about modern cartoons, but girls as a demographic has often been extremely neglected. All the 80s schlock that was abandoned in favor of more action, plot oriented and well written shows still stuck around for any tv show still aimed at little girls. It was a fucking disappointment. So this, to me, is a breath of fresh air. Even if I'd rather see an original property and not MLP, at least it's a well done well thought out MLP.

God damn this fandom... did I just watch a full god damn episode of my little pony?
Yes, yes I did..... and I liked it.
While in the bubble of this subgroup, that's fine, but in grand scheme of things, well, its kinda weird.
Though they did do a very good job in animation, design and even voices, that amount of effort and execution should be appreciated on even an adult level. :)

Oh yeah those girls can get a little more srs about their ponies than I think is healthy.
Plus its one of the bitchiest cattiest fandoms I've ever encountered at some points.
Off topic I added you as one of my fav artists on my info page. I think your art is one of the few I comment on with regularity. I don't know what it is, but it captivates my attention

I totally don't have a MLP desktop.
And this is not proof.

I just love that they were playing Techno during Pinkie Pie's alleged party for Twilight, who bowed out early. I also love that Applejack is a super-butch girl and is still so very feminine. But, yes, I love Rainbow Dash most of all, as she's got attitude. And maybe a thing for Applejack. Yes, I'm an Appledash. I admit it. To varying degrees a Flutterty and Twilightpie as well, though I would severely chastise Rarity for heinous acts of heterosexuality. Yuri is SRS BZNS.
Oh gosh, it would have been awesome if it was Firefly. Sad I have not seen the new series, such a sorry Pony fan I am. I hear it's really cute though...trying to stave off getting the figures but i'm sure i'll see them and it will be over for me.
As for this, she looks awesome! Glad they changed her a from the way she was in G3!
