You were exploring crystal caves in an unknown part of the world. Accompanying you was your partner Zephyr. He is a large green dragon that you met at camp. He's an absolute sweetheart but he does have issues controlling his quite frequent flatulence.
Zephyr wasn't used to being away from home for very long. The fact it took him this long to come with you to another dimension just showed how much better off he was compared to other dragons that lived in your world.
He and you were currently following your friends, who led the way towards their campsite. You stopped in front of a cliffside. A giant castle was nestled between a couple peaks. It had many turrets pointing into the sky and a huge roofed walkway that stretched to the highest points of the castle walls. The entire thing seemed like a fairy tale story. If you hadn’t been on an adventure.
Zephyr and the team gazed upon the castle's glory. There may be a whole royal family in there ! But it was best to stick to the path and study the odd enchanting crystals. You and Zephyr decided to split up from the others to cover more ground. Although another reason was because Zephyr's tummy was bubbling again and you were the only one who could survive his deadly butt blast.
You followed the path towards a large rock near the bottom of the mountain. You found a small cave. You were about to enter when Zephyr suddenly appeared right next to you. "I see some crystals," he said.
"Let's head back. They'll be safer here," you replied.
"But they look cool!" Zephyr said with excitement.
You sighed. "If we stay out here any longer our stomachs will be empty and we'll lose the energy necessary to climb all these rocks."
Zephyr pouted but agreed reluctantly. Just then his belly churned and a loud booming fart echoed throughout the mountain range. Zephyr blushed as you wafted the foul air away from your nose.

"Hehe, Excuse me ?" He said sheepishly.
You just rolled your eyes and put a few small crystals in your bag. "You're excused."
Once you finished collecting the crystals you headed out of the cave to find the others. You noticed two strange creatures approaching from the other end of the mountain range. They looked similar to the creatures from your world. One had black scales on its head and wore a hood. The other creature had orange scales and had what resembled a lion's tail.
As they drew closer you noticed that they both had horns sticking out of either side of their heads. As they drew close you noticed that one had blue eyes, while the other had orange eyes.
The pair walked slowly towards you and Zephyr. The beasts didn't seem hostile, but you quickly hopped on Zephyr's back and flew deeper into the cave very quickly. While you managed to escape the beasts for now. You were both lost within the cave system.

Zephyr started to get nervous which made his stomach bubble again. You placed a hand on his forehead to calm him down.

"Relax buddy, This could be a whole lot worse ! Besides if you toot now the whole place could collapse with us in it ! Understand ?" You smiled. You couldn't help but feel relieved that everything had turned out alright.
"Yeah," Zephyr replied. He didn't sound convinced. His stomach continued to growl loudly.
Your eyes widened and you tried to keep yourself from laughing. Your hand reached behind the back of his neck and scratched lightly. You could hear his stomach growl louder. He let out a groan and began to fly around the cave. Eventually the dragon landed on top of a large boulder and plopped himself down. He began to shake as you kept scratching his neck.
"Hey it's alright! No one can possibly know we are here." You said in your calmest voice.

Zephyr sniffed your bag of crystals and licked his lips. "H-Hey, can I eat one of those ? Just a small tiny one ?" He begged.

Dragons can eat crystals when they need energy. You shrugged and gave him a small orange one. He ate it and as he did small orange sparks fell from his mouth. Then, suddenly his scales glewed a brilliant bright orange and became super sparkly !
He looked at you and smirked. "See! It tastes even better than you think! Tch!" He stuck his tongue out and then resumed snacking.
You couldn't stop grinning. "That looks awesome!"
You jumped onto the boulder beside him and grabbed a nearby crystal. You began to play with the crystals and watched them glow brightly.
After watching them glow, something occurred to you. "Hey, do you think it has anything to do with your powers? Like maybe the crystals give you power or whatever?"
Zephyr shook his head no. "Nope, I don't have any powers. At least...I thought I didn't."

Suddenly the two creatures from before came rushing into the cavern where you were. The black one knocked you down, and a fall from such a height would definitely not end well. The orange creature tried to tackle Zephyr, but he managed to blast giant purple flames at it from his maw. Afterwards he quickly flew down to try and save you. Unfortunately, the orange creature tackled him first. Zephyr hit the ground hard, but managed to recover quickly and fly up in time to blast fire at it again. That's when things started getting really weird. It seemed like the orange creature was absorbing the flames. Zephyr shot several blasts towards it but the orange creature didn't care. It just kept absorbing.
"What the heck is going on?!" Zephyr exclaimed. "Why is that thing absorbing my powers?!"
At last the orange creature absorbed the attack. Zephyr quickly shot down and caught you by the arm. He looked up at the creature which was now floating over your head. At that moment you had an idea but it was risky.

"Zephyr, you have to fart !" You shouted. Zephyr looked at you with both shock and confusion.
"W-What !?"

"Remember what I said ? If you let one rip this whole place could collapse. If we're fast enough we might be able to get away in time. Just believe in yourself !" You tried to encourage the dragon and it worked.

Zephyr aimed his rump at the two creatures and grunted with all his might. His scales glowed even brighter than before ! The creatures were blown away with the explosion and tumbled down into the dark abyss below. After they disappeared you all stood there panting slightly.
"What...was that?" Zephyr stuttered.
"That?" You laughed nervously. "Well, you farted pretty big!"
"Farted?!! Are you sure you haven't been hit by lightning or anything?" He said.
"I'm positive I didn't miss out on any electric shocks!" You replied with a smile. "It's nothing to worry about. Now why don't we head back to camp."

Suddenly the cave shook violently and giant crystals and rocks fell from the ceiling. Zephyr quickly saw an opening and flew through it as the cavern collapsed behind him. As he was flying his scales started to return to their original green color which slowly made him fly slower. Thankfully you both made it out without being crushed by rocks. However you were unintentionally smooshed under Zephyr's squishy butt.

"Huh ? Bud ? Where are you !?" He called. You mumbled underneath him and he blushed looking down.
"Ahh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to crush ya," Zephyr apologized. "We should go check up on the others."
You climbed out of the pile of rocks and dust. You were both completely covered in dirt and you both coughed and sneezed. "It's fine. I should be fine after cleaning my face off. Let's go check on everyone else."
"Right behind ya! What's the rush anyway? Aren't we still kinda in enemy territory?" Zephyr asked.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me..." you replied. "Where are we anyway ? ...Guys ! Are you out there ?!" You called out but there was no response.

Upon closer inspection you realized that you weren't in the caves anymore but some kind of dark fortress. Perhaps a castle ? You didn't want to explore the area in case someone was waiting inside or if it was a trap.
"Come on!" You yelled. "We shouldn't waste time here!"
Zephyr's belly growled again thankfully from hunger and not gas "can I have another crystal ?" He begged.

"No way ! At least not until we get a better idea of what these are and why they gave you those powers earlier." You said.
Zephyr frowned. You took a breath trying to ignore his pain ridden whines.
"But hey! Look at what we found! We even discovered a food source! Maybe these crystals aren't such bad things after all!" You said, pointing up at the ceiling.
Zephyr looked up curiously. There, high up above you, was the largest crystal you've ever seen. Not only that, but it was glowing bright yellow. It almost reminded you of sunlight.
"Do you really think this thing will make my scales look more appealing?." Zephyr asked. He glanced down at you. You were busy inspecting the crystal. Then out from the darkness two stunning blues stared at you and were followed by a deep growl.
