I get the mental image of the pilots struggling to pull up and just barely managing to save their transport aircraft. The fly on for a bit, nothing but blue skys ahead, the hundreds of troops in the back let out a cheer and pilots visibly slump back into their chairs and breath a sigh of relief.
Suddenly everything goes dark as Maria's mouth envelopes the plane, gently cradling it with her tongue before swallowing them all whole.
