The story starts with a flashback to a clash between Lyn Umbraclaw and Glacia Wintergale, two incredibly powerful beings called "Astrals". Lyn was the powerful Sorcerer General of Sol'Rah, the right hand to Empress Sky'Rah "Skylar" Infernia Sol'Wing. She was slain by Glacia at the end of the battle, her Astralite core broken into shards and scattered around Corrvale to keep her from reforming.
