After waking up from his comatose state, Warwick raises up and clutches his head, groaning from a pulse-pounding headache. His vision was a bit blurry, clearing up while squinting his green eyes to adjust to the lights flooding in. While Warwick is adjusting to the lights, a familiar voice causes his ears to go up. "Hey Chief, are you alive?"
That voice sounds familiar to Warwick and when he glances over, he sees the familiar face of his student. Greggory was standing over him and monitoring his condition while waiting for him to wake up. And wake up Warwick did.
After regaining consciousness and familiarizing himself with his surroundings, Warwick focuses his attention now on his purple-eyed student, Greggory.
Warwick softly assures Greggory, "I'm alive; I'm alive. That was some showdown, huh?"
"Yeah, but I think I almost killed you with that stunt I pulled." Greggory admits, his ears lowering considerably.
"Well I'm still alive, aren't I?" Warwick rebuffs with an assuring chuckle.
While Greggory rubs the back of his head out of sheepishness, the purple-eyed striped hyena stays silent while laughing nervously. Then he confesses after some time, "I thought I lost you at that moment…" This comment from Greggory stuns Warwick into silence…
"You honestly thought I died?" Warwick whispered after a moment to shocked silence. He kept his gaze focused on his student, who was now looking unsure of himself.
Greggory nods slowly while still considering his mentor's stare and condition. Warwick didn't appear to be angry with him; in fact, he was surprised, most of all. This even showed with the green-eyed teacher blinking at him while beginning to sit up straight, regarding him with an air of admiration.
"It was a 'heat of the moment' kind of thing, not gonna lie. It was an intense fight we were having. But pulling that move at the end and squishing you in the process, I legit thought I literally flattened you." Greggory continues to admit, looking away afterwards. He's feeling forlorn and guilty now over what he did moments ago.
Warwick, on the other hand, just smiled in return. He teases Greggory, "Heh, you may be all big and stuff but you definitely have a heart, and a lot of character in you. That is what makes me proud of you." He then proceeds to gently punch Greggory on the arm to try and cheer him up.
Though the soft punch does little to affect Greggory, the purple-eyed student falls silent while still appearing guilty. That's when Warwick slowly stands up to meet him directly. Gently he drapes an arm around Greggory, which startles him at first. Finally, Greggory turns his attention to Warwick while whispering, "You're not mad at me?"
"Mad? Why would I be mad?" Warwick's tail begins to wag while he smiles at Greggory in return out of admiration. The coach goes on to assure him, "I would never stay mad at you. You're a pretty good fighter, yourself. True, you could have flattened me but if it was anyone else, then you would've done the same thing. Plus, you're a tough kid, able to handle anything thrown at you too. You have amazing talent as a fighter! That is what I see in you."
Drawing a breath, Greggory relaxes and he immediately grabs Warwick in a hard embrace, squeezing him. He whispers in Warwick's ear, "Thank you…"
Warwick gives a muffled response during the squeezing moment, poking fun at his student. "I forgive you and this is how you repay me? By squeezing me to death?" Adding in a chuckle, Warwick assured he is only joking in his retort.
Once Greggory releases him and the two separate afterwards, Warwick offers, "Why don't we both head out and grab something to eat? I'm treating us both, so you won't have to worry about anything."
