Good question!! I think in G4 they said that Earth ponies got 'strength'. Seems like a cop out to me.

Only earth pony magic I know of comes from fanfics. Or fanart, as there's one picture I remember of Applejack drawing strength from the earth... after having been beaten to death, it seemed like. O.o;; She was healing damage with the magic, but goodness did she need it!

Personally, I like the idea that their magic is more subtle and tied to the ground. Everything from growing plants to being able to shatter solid rock with their hooves, it's all because of earth pony magic.

I mean, how else do you explain how the Apple Family grows and harvests fruit? Them Zapp Apples, ain't natural, I tell ya!

That's a fair argument. I guess I just want to see it come into play more often. Show us more rock-smashing moments and plant control. :3

Indeed! I would love to see more of it in the show! It just makes them seem less special or has awful implications if you don't actually show what kind of magic they can do. It's kinda annoying.
