1/37
It all started with that silly black cat.
Because it's now the second, I want to restate that Thirty-Seven Pictures of a Cat was in no way an April Fool's joke! I'm serious about giving this new story a try. As I stated in the initial concept art I posted, my other story -- The Chronicles of the Crisis -- is always going to come first, and Thirty-Seven is still in the planning phases at the moment. It will be a long time before I can actually start posting pages.
What I will do in the mean time is start posting the titular 37 pictures of this cat. In each of these pictures, I will be drawing the same cat -- known through the story as "Kitty" (the cat actually doesn't have a name in the story, so "Kitty" is just what the other characters call him) -- over and over again in different styles and shapes. It is an exercise in art, love, and memory that is thematically tied to the story itself.
The first picture is my best attempt at drawing Kitty in a realistic style. He was a very cute and sweet-looking cat, but he was also HUGE. That cat weighed almost twenty pounds! And he was always looking for trouble, the silly thing. He always wanted to be the center of attention.
