The masking effect is taken to an extreme. I aspire to have a house with lots of natural wood fixtures someday.

Lucky you! That's my frequent daydream while walking through the neighborhood on trash days, but mostly for VCRs. I still have a few 2600s from back when you could pick them up from Goodwill for $2.00. You can pick up a composite-to-type-F (Atari TV cable to antenna plug) adapter from Radio Shack, or just experiment with some bare wire.
When I was younger I had an odd fascination with old video games and computers. Woodgrained systems were being thrown out en masse as people entered the mid-90's, and 2600s, Intellivisions, pong consoles and others could be picked up for next to nothing. However, I never played them very much. It was more of a fascination with the aesthetics of the console and the era they existed in. I'm a weird kid.
To answer your question, yes, I like Atari.

In the '70s and '80s 'round here (and I'm sure everywhere else but I can only speak for Fort Collins), a lot of the houses had this really neat steep-angle, lots-of-windows thing going on, which this room reminded me of. I wish I knew this architectural style's name, because if I ever have a house built, I want one in that style. :D
Thanks! It's a bootleg famicom in the shape of an Atari. http://www.old-computers.com/museum.....t=2&c=1137
Thanks, and please don't hesitate to ask about my work! It's done with Gimp; I don't have Photoshop on this computer and I haven't explored other options like SAI, Flash, Manga Studio (is that one?) and the like. I haven't looked into more advanced brush techniques with gimp. I'm getting tired of the "MS Paint look" but it's stylistically close to how I draw on paper. I can't even draw with a brush pen in real life.
Late comment but LOVE the RF hookup. SO MANY MEMORIES
also that bootleg Famicom looks kind of like a master system, I love that. the ONLY and it is ever so tiny niggling complaint I could even barebyl ahve is that it looks like you've got a 72 pin NES style cart in there instead of a 60 pin Famicom style cart. But that could also be the angle of the picture as well!
