And I have never been on one in my life, I would be more than happy to be your traveling partner. I honestly think the two of us would get along smashing *giggle* >.> and I promise not to play with the dolls to much <.< *sigh* lol

Lovely piece as always. ^__^
I live in Southern California and I actually live a couple blocks away from a train station. well, it's a train station/bus station since i use the buses to get to school. I've always wanted to travel by train. It would be so enjoyable. But having someone along with you does make the experience even more enjoyable.
Speaking of traveling, my sister just went up to Alaska to help a friend move a couple of months ago. She loved it, such a beautiful place. I love Alaska and always wanted to travel there. Balto got me interested in Alaska ^__^ and i wonder if the iditarod dog race is still going on. I love to see that firsthand. ^__^

Thanks ^^
The Iditarod Dog race still goes on. Its a yearly tradition that racers take quite seriously. The course isnt exactly the same as the first one, since it would be too dangerous, but its pretty close. Part of it comes right through town now, and right outside my appartment. I can just go out on my balcony and watch as they go by.

Besides it being a beautiful image, traveling really is a nice thing. And I personally like train trips too. Even though it's completely unspecial to most people, it has something unusual to it, which makes it very exciting. Every kind of traveling is sweet. That is why I am doing a job, where I am driving through entire Europe all day =)
I love this piece. It feels so real and so comfortable. I have never only been on a train in the winter once, and only for a short distance. There a scenic railway here in town ^_^, though it mostly runs in the fall for the changing of the leaves. If you ever wanna see it though you would be more then welcome to come visit. (and we can have homemade hot apple cider or hot chocolate, they have both right next to where the train is ^_^. Just thought I'd give you the invite.
Hmm.
Might I suggest taking the Empire Builder journey sometime soon.
The Empire Builder is a special senic rail trip that Amtrak offers. Basically it starts on one coast of the United States and goes to the other, plus it runs along the ocean coasts, effectively making a large U shape across the North American continent.
And quite a nice drawing, I like the feel of the winter weather. =3

You know I've always noticed your art and cant believe this is the 1st one im commenting on, but this just looks amazing to me! I actually love riding on trains (even though NC isnt the best place for em) and flying, and I've been lucky enough to have a friend in europe I go stay with and trains were a big help in our adventures over there! :D I hope you get the chance to go on one, they tend to be really peaceful and beautiful, which is why this art caught my eye so much, its like you took the feelings of it and made an image. Keep up the amazing work! :)
the picture and your location made me think of the white pass and yukon, from skagway to carcross. alaska never did have near enough in the way of trains. just the alaska rr and the wp&y. the latter being a somewhat interesting narrow gauge. it used to go a lot further into y.t. canada, when it had more freight bussiness and not just the tourist passenger trains. its been out of and back into bussiness several times and i'm not up to date on its current status. believe it or not, there are places in california that have the have a similar range of weather conditions, and i liven in one once upon a time. two actually. started kindergarten in truckee, and after high school lived for a couple of years on top of donner summit. my dad worked for the railroad most of his life, and i had the good fortune of doing so for about a year of my own.
never been up your way and probably won't, but snow, trains and forests, are three of my favorite things, along with all the other life forms that live in them.
