Another fan-fiction-based sketch that I slapped some shading and a lil background onto....please don't hate me for all the Skyrim stuff, it's just so fun ;u;
For context: Takes place right after this https://www.furaffinity.net/view/46238054/
The two were ambushed by vampires and their thralls. Though obviously the victors in said fight, it can't be said they got away easily, as Hunter was all but forced to reveal her lycanthropy, and Marcurio took some nasty hits. Because they wind up being unable to adventure out over the next few days, it really forces them to sit down and evaluate their professional relationship with each other, and also- to pursue romantic feelings, or not?
One day I might be brave enough to post some fluffy fanfic, but alas, that day is not today. Or, maybe I oughta make some pieces for it and just post the relative parts in the descriptions...hmm...

Added some flavor story because I couldn’t sleep. This doesn’t show up in the story I wrote, but fits here nonetheless, as Id glossed over this particular instance to continue the next scene.
Though retaining a gathered demeanor on the outside, Marcurio was almost surprised that he and Hunter had scraped by their fight just moments ago. He was very sure in his abilities, but even a powerful mage could be ambushed if distracted properly.
...Not that he minded the khajiit being a distraction- hardly so! Although, there was new things to discuss upon the revelation of Hunter, apparently, being a werewolf. If he lived to wake another day, he hoped she’d allow him to ask...things...if he lived another night...he was feeling tired even now...
No.
WHEN he woke.
He would ask.
Hopefully she would talk to him, but he had to survive first.
Stay awake. Focus on something...
The frigid air around the duo was cold and unforgiving.
That was hard to ignore, at least.
Aside from the rhymthic puffs of steamy air that escaped the werewolfs nose, her paws kicking up the snow, and the harsh sweeping of wind around them, the forest was quiet, passing by in a blur. The mage was trying desperately to keep his wits about himself, though reluctantly, was relieved to feel the sensation of pain around his ill-gotten wounds, as it meant that he was alive, even if only for now.
Though it hurt terribly to do so, he moved his arm back, trying to angle his hand in a way that would allow his healing spell to permeate around the glowing blade that had stayed lodged in his gut. Again, reluctanly, the pain assured him he was alive, so he rode the adrenaline and managed to push the mana through. The soft gold light was meager, a flutter of his last reserves, but it slowed the bleeding nonetheless. He gave a tight sigh of relief before placing his palm back to the bloodied fabric, pressing gingerly against the oozing red liquid in an attempt to keep the dagger stable until they could remove it safely.
Hunter took a pause, steam spewing out of her nostrils like an angry ox as she surveyed the area, then took a glance at her friend.
“Marcurio? How are you holding up?” she asked around the leather backpack strap in her jaws.
“Wonderful.” he gritted out, trying to sound better than he really felt, and the khajiit gave a lopsided grin.
“Good, cause you look terrible.”
“Ahahh, ow...you’re one to talk, little dragon..” he tried to stay upbeat, but Hunter could see that he was starting to fade, so she checked him to see he was still secure on her back, and took off again.
“We’re almost there!” she tried calling loud enough for the mage to hear, and he gripped her mane tighter in response, bringing the khajiit a surge of energy.
“Yer gonna make it!” she assured both of them, though considered silently...
‘I won’t leave your side. Until then...hang on...’

Under any other circumstance, it really would’ve taken some sweet-talking (and probably some hazard-pay), but at this point, he’d reasoned his options; Accecpt her help and risk werewolf problems, or...try to get help somewhere else and risk dying alone in the wilderness from gods-know-what (poisioned arrows, a soul-trap dagger, vampiris-infected bite for starters).
Sometimes I feel bad for knocking characters down so hard, but for these two, forcing them into such a compromising position really did wonders in their relationship going forward.
