Interesting idea of the poor fellow's hat just "Disintegrating" I'd have the horns poking up and through it and finally shredding it for a touch of "Comic" effect. I thought the shreds of the hat were "Magic In Process Stars" similar to those which I like to use when my character "Muse" is transforming, or some other character in my stories is undergoing a "Magical" transformation.

actually that's suppose to be his hair falling out, but the hat disintegrating works too
