ARA's only been active for a period she feels best described as 'a few days'? Weird.... it doesn't seem that particular 'ARA' unit could possibly have done all she has with her crewmates in such a short time. And she already acts like she knows them (and us) comfortably here.
And before anyone raises the possibility: any memory wipe hard enough to make ARA consider herself 'newborn' again would likely destroy that learned knowledge and awareness of her relationships.

It's possible she had been active previously but was taken offline for an as-yet-unspecified reason. The way she wakes up seems to be indicative of that.
I'm guessing that either the shutdown itself or whatever forced the shutdown ended up fragmenting and/or corrupting her database, and an attempt to recover it left her with the holes in memory that we see here.
