I was born with F.O.P, Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, a life-long condition that turns muscle into bone, locking joints & eventually the whole body.

It is typically diagnosed at birth from the presence of bent big toes, but because FOP is so rare a correct diagnosis can take years, multiple hospitals, and unnecessary biopsies.

FOP Awareness Day marks the anniversary of the FOP gene discovery, in April 2006!
