It's just an artstyle that I've always tried ever since I was a kid and just stuck with because it worked, haha
Super meticulous, but it's basically just thinking and seeing how shadows work with the kind of thing you're drawing, and then going in and brushing the colors in one shade and one patch at a time. Leave it looking like a photo at first, then you look at it a little harder and can see all the little strokes that make it up
