I allways wanted a Pro/Semiprofessional Camcorder that sits on the shoulder, and these DVCAM machines are really cheap now. I got this Sony DSR-200AP including charger, cables, two tripod adapters/plates and a used tape for like 145€ including shipping. I can copy recorded material over by Firewire, my PC has a working FW800 card that is supported by Win10/64 to copy it over by Firewire.
Yes, ok, that camera "ONLY" records in PAL in 720x576 but it works and its nice. This was okay for years before the HD craze started (While i still watch many movies from VHS) so it will be okay for me. OI dont even have a clue what i wanna film with it. I just wanted it.
I also would liked to have a Betacam Camcorder but these require professional NP1 Batteries that also have a professional price tag. (We talk about 30,- for a battery for this machine versus 130 minimum for a NP1).

rad camcorder! hope its seen some use by now. got a youtube channel to pop them up on?
i'm in the states and i also prefer on-the-shoulder camcorders, or at the least rather large & good weight, though my go-to professional grade is usually S-VHS or HI-8. I've gotten into miniDV tapes recently, but those have been a pain in the butt to find better than tiny, casual camcorders and most of those didn't work anymore. got my old one and a 2nd hand Panasonic that i like so i'm okay for now.
