An AMAZING picture of my evil fictional alter-ego 'Komos,' Circe's agent here in the real world. I bow to
skulldog and her infinite talent: I have NEVER seen one of my characters realized so well - pictures like this make me wish I really knew how to draw instead of just faking it...
A gift to me from an anonymous Funhouse fan who commissioned
skulldog as part of her astonishing and soon-to-end $8 sketch sale - http://skulldog.livejournal.com/445682.html - Hurry hurry hurry!

Unlike Circe's Komos' TF's are only temporary, last for an hour or so. Using his powerful reptilian hypnotic aura and abilities Komos can take on any appearance that suits his needs at the moment (usually an exceptionally handsome and charismatic fellow) and easily make people obey his will.
While Circe would forever lose her immortality and powers should she ever visit the real world (or 'Earth Prime,' thank you DC (and that's both
desiringchange and DC Comics)), Komos can travel between here and her extra-dimensional realm, no problem. He might be here to lure a prime candidate for a TF through a dimensional portal (like that antiques store that wasn't there yesterday and won't be there tomorrow) into her realm - or he might be here in search of the mysterious "Mr. Big" who's scheming to steal Circe's powers for himself. In fact, it's on this very mission he meets up with
desiringchange's Goldie who has her own reasons for tracking down Mr. Big.
Imagine John Steed and Mrs Peel (that's the 1960's British TV series "The Avengers" for you youngsters) as drawn by Jack Kirby - that's Komos and Goldie. For a more detailed look at their origins and first meeting, check out
desiringchange's story at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1698962/ - and here's a little vignette of them in action I wrote a while back, first time it's seeing the light of day:
Komos stared at the terrified hoodlum. "Perhapsss you'd care for a masssage," he hissed, raking his claws into the desk he was leaning against. The sound of solid mahogany shredding into fragments filled the small room as the reptile carved four deep gashes into the wood.
"But the lady and I were hoping you'd tell usss... *everything* we need to know." Komos' stare grew sharper. The hoodlum gulped as Komos' forked tongue darted out of his mouth for a brief moment. "That you'd *sssing* for usss asss it were... like a little birdy."
The hoodlum's eyes bulged out and his body started to shrink, contracting like a leaky balloon. His lips seemed to solidify and his hair turned a bright yellow. The color spread down his face, onto his neck and disappeared into his increasingly baggy clothing - clothing that a second later collapsed in a heap on the floor, leaving a canary fluttering in the air above.
The 'canary' flew over to Komos, landed on one of the lizard's outstretched claws and began twittering for all it was worth. Komos leaned his head close to the bird, listened for a bit, then turned to his golden companion. "The warehouse on Wesssst Ssssecond Sssstreet." The bird flew off his claw and landed on the shoulder of his immobile comrade.
"Neat trick, oh scaly one," Goldie smirked. "Mind revealing your weight loss secrets?"
"A sssimple matter of transssmuting matter into energy, and vissse-versssa I learned from the missstresss. I underssstand she shared it with a sssertain Missster Einssstein a few yearsss back."
(This has to be the longest response I've ever written to a comment on one of my pictures!)

agreed. Though I think I remember reading that part of it before. You and Goldie were surrounded by hoodlums and Goldie turned most of them into gold statues while you tfed this guy into a canary so you could learn where you needed to go. But if Circe can't leave her realm, then what about the establishments she's been in to tf people before like in Brewin Bruin?
Published that excerpt before? Whoops... well it's good (and short) enough to read again.
As for the Brewin' Bruin...

The door Teddy stepped through to enter the tavern was the portal from the real world into the Funhouse. All those seemingly real stores, etc actually (and only) exist in Circe's dimension.
