I imagine that with Cipocatli parents there'd always be very protective and immediately rushing in to help with any problems but making a lot of fuss about it. I could see that perhaps being part of the reason why Tial wouldn't want to make a big deal about things given their reservations.
Fortunately with Antonis there is understanding and patience and it looks like Tial is slowly getting more comfortable and accepting with them.
