The phone kept ringing for a long while. Sarge felt his heart sink. It had been a good while since he called. Had it been too long? Hearing the voice mail come in, Sarge sighed and pressed the end call button. He sat down on the couch and took a deep breath. Now that he was a ball of nerves, he couldn't help but wonder why his mom wasn't answering. He'd been so busy and... mentally unstable for the last few months that he didn't have the time to call her. Was she... upset?

The phone buzzed to life, startling Sarge out of his seat. Grabbing his phone quickly he saw it was from his mom. His tail began to wag wildly as he answered the call. "Hello?" he asked.

"Hey, sweetie did you call?"

"Y-yes! Me did... erm... I did!" Sarge said. "I was... uh... wanting to checks up on you! It's been a bits."

"Did you hurt yourself again? You sound like you're having trouble speaking."

"It's... a long story, Mom." Sarge gulped. "And I's have newses again."

"Again? Is everything alright?"

"Yes! Mom, pants is... getting smalls... again." Sarge looked down at his belly. It was bigger than it was last month, and now he fully, finally understood what was happening -- at least he thought he did.
