This is a glimpse of my main character: Rosie. I've had her as a Mobian Echidna for many, many years, but that has since changed. I've been itching to do this for a long time now. I didn't want to stick on the Sonic fandom forever. It was a great base for me to grow on but, eventually, you have to take what you've learned from your source of inspiration and turn it into something yours. Thus, Rosie the Echidna is no more... I've turned my take on Mobians into a new species of extraterrestrial beings. She is now reborn as Roselia Shaolin, the Starmorph!
What are Starmorphs? They are celestial beings born from energy from the stars, deep within a distortion in space that lies several light-years from the Milky Way. Within that distortion is a small cluster of worlds, including the Hidden Emerald Dimension: a mystical nebula that hides a vast world where Starmorphs are born. Their bodies are very different from a run-of-the-mile anthro in numerous ways. First, is their appearance. They have a chibi alien-style facial structure with big, gleaming eyes without any sclera. Males can develop moderate amounts of muscle while females have the same amount, but it's all compressed down for a slimmer look. Females don't develop breasts either and, thankfully, neither gender has...ahem, 'nether regions.' This means they don't reproduce as other creatures do, and, furthermore, a lot of their bodily systems work differently. However, their most defining trait is that their bodies are virtually indestructible. They can still feel pain but they're brick-tough, as not even the sharpest blade or hardest fall can lacerate, break, or crush them. Hence, they live under a martial artist culture where fighting is very common, be it competitive or just a fun way to bond.
I've had this concept brewing for quite a while. This is my way of taking everything I learned from drawing and role-playing with Rosie and turning it into something original. It's still a work in progress so I have plenty of room to toy around with the concept and fine-tune it, including different sub-species of Starmorphs. If you'd like to learn more about Starmorphs, in general, I created a page that explains an overview of their biology.
