Trained from youth, Heskel is the level-headed bodyguard of the starry-eyed Prince Darrow. The two have been close friends and confidants for as long as Heskel can remember, ever since he was found as a pup wandering injured from The Depths of the Iromaine Forest.

When Prince Darrow is promised in an arranged marriage to Lady Delinda of the rival kingdom of Wilding Gorge, Heskel finds the stability he clung to slowly crumbling, slipping through his fingers. Add on to that, sinister forces are working to keep the kingdoms separate and in conflict.
