For anyone who's actually following the plot from the first chapter and not just reading the feet stuff (it's okay, i understand uwu), the idea of this new series is some of time, some of the actors in the story are not entirely reliable narrators.
The gods are liars.
The cultists ritualistically killed David O'Donnell and committed suicide, but ultimately accomplished nothing on AU Earth.
David/Bhafelheim deliberately withheld some information from Ryan - more on this later.
Parts of Laslow's story (Ch. 3) was distorted by David/Bhafelheim, out of guilt.
