Kitty: Well, folks, since the Armadillo is the first member of Group D eliminated, it's time we unmasked him, and sent him back to his universe. But, before we do that, let's see what the panel's first impression guesses were for him, shall we?
*The TUFF Troopers head down into the underground vault, and retrieve the first impression guesses for the Armadillo. They return to the stage with them, and Kitty begins to read each one.*
Kitty: Okay. This was a pretty tough one, but the first impression guesses are as follows...
Terry's first impression guess: Littlefoot from "The Land Before Time"
Cadence's first impression guess: Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise
Chick's first impression guess: Spyro the Dragon
Stew's first impression guess: Spyro the Dragon
Fred's first impression guess: Luigi from the Super Mario franchise
Isabelle's first impression guess: Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise
Kitty: Well, that about does it for the first impression guesses. Let's see if any of them are right as we...
Everyone: TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF!
*Two TUFF Troopers come in and remove the cape from the Armadillo's back, revealing a big hole in the middle of it.*
Cadence: (thinking there's no one in the costume) What? It looks empty!
Fred: Is this some kind of a joke?
Stew: Oh, boy! What's goin' on?
Kitty: (looking down the hole) Hey, wait a minute! I see something in there!
*Just then, a pair of hands grabbed the edge of the hole, and out of the hole pops Ernie Keebler of the Keebler Elves.*
Kitty: HOLY SMOKES!!! It's the leader of the Keebler Elves, Ernie Keebler!
Everyone: WHAT?!?
Isabelle: THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Chick: THIS IS UNPRECIDENTED!!!!
Terry: THIS IS UNEXPECTED!!!!
Ernie: Bet you didn't think a character from advertising would make an appearance on this show, did you?
Fred: It didn't even cross our minds!
Cadence: You said it!
Kitty: This is a Masked Toon Singer first! This is the first time we had an advertising character on this show!
Ernie: Oh, yes! This is indeed history in the making!
Chick: You got THAT right!
Kitty: Ernie Keebler is the head of the Keebler Elves, the little magic elves who bake the Keebler cookies for the Keebler Company. Ernie replaced the original head elf, J.J. Keebler, in 1970, and has been considered the face of the Keebler Elves ever since. He's appeared in various commercials for the cookies along with his employees, where they use Elvin magic to bake all the Keebler cookies in a hollow tree.
Fred: Baking cookies in a tree? Isn't that a fire hazard?
Ernie: Incredibly so. But, thanks to some Elvin magic, as well as some regularly scheduled fire drills and fire safety protocols, I don't think we've had a fire emergency in quite some time.
Cadence: Well, that's good.
Isabelle: I bet you guys make some very delicious cookies, Mr. Keebler.
Kitty: Yeah, they do, Isabelle. Their products include Chips Deluxe, chocolate chip cookies with or without M&Ms in them, Fudge Shoppe cookies, E.L. Fudge cookies in the shape of the entire Keebler staff, and Frosted Animal cookies, which are basically frosted animal crackers. My husband is ESPECIALLY fond of the Fudge Stripe cookies. He grabs them whenever he can when we go grocery shopping. ;)
Ernie: That's good to know that our products are still being enjoyed by everyone young and old. ^^
Stew: I'll say. You would've been great additions to the Gingerbread Joyride track in CTR.
Chick: Stew, remember what we said about cross-promotion?
Stew: Oh, yeah.
Terry: But what I wanna know is what the deal was about the egg clue? Did you help an egg with something?
Ernie: We did a sweepstakes back in the 90s for Banjo-Kazooie, and Banjo was the Egg on your show last season. Fast Eddie was wrapping up our products so fast, he wrapped one of the Jiggies in one of them, and he bolted out of the tree so fast, we didn't have time to stop him!
Everyone: Oooooooooooh.
Chick: That totally went over our heads!
Kitty: They also had a promotion with Spider-Man 2 where all their Fudge Shoppe cookies were colored red just like Spider-Man's costume. That's where the spider clue came into play.
Ernie: Yes, we had a spider problem at that time. But not to worry, we've since gotten rid of them.
Isabelle: Boy, you guys have strange ways to promote your products.
Ernie: I guess we do, now that you've mentioned it.
Isabelle: Yeah.
Kitty: So, what made you wanna come on this show, Ernie?
Ernie: Like you said, you've never had an advertising character on your show. You've always had cartoon characters from movies, TV shows, comic books, and video games, so I figured I'd surprise everybody by being the first cartoon character from commercials to be unmasked. And, judging from your reactions, I was right.
Fred: I'll say you did!
Cadence: Well, you did amazing, Ernie. You shown us that you can sing a mean Journey song without any problems. ;)
Ernie: Thank you very much, Principal Cadence. But I think I'll stick with baking cookies.
Terry: Well, you never know when you might get involved with music again.
Kitty: Totally. Well, that's it for Group D for now, folks. And since nobody got Ernie Keebler right, the score for the Golden Toon Ear Trophy remains as is, with Cadence in the lead with 3 points, Terry and Fred tied for second with two points a-piece, Chick and Isabelle tied for third with one point a-piece, and Stew still in last place with nothing.
Stew: I swear, I'll get it next time!
Kitty: The next time we'll see Group D again, they'll be joined by their Wild Card contestant. Speaking of Wild Cards, next time we'll see Group A again but now, they'll be joined by THEIR Wild Card contestant. So, this is gonna get interesting! Right now, let's hear it once more for the artist formerly known as the Armadillo, Ernie Keebler!
