I remember back around 1990, we got a cat from some girl using a sob story that she claimed she wouldn't be allowed home until she got rid of this cat, so mom and dad decided to keep the cat.

Well, the cat was female, and wasn't fixed. So, one day, when the cat started her cycle, we didn't have a clue what was going on, so dad called the vet to figure out what to do. I don't remember what was said, but we did our best to keep her inside during her heats. One night, she got out, and well, she got pregnant, and had kittens in 1991.

Its kind of amusing and annoying that cats when they're in heat will stick their butt up in the air when you call their name.

Whinnie currently has her own room but she wants to be social but not until she is fixed ... I am going into the slow period for ebay.. may take a while to pay off but it's the responsible thing to do is to fix the cat

Are there any low cost spay & nueter clinics in the area you live? Last I remember, the PETS clinic here in Wichita Falls charges something like $40 or $50 to get cats fixed.
