My bearded dragon really doesn't care if I take pictures. I can get about 6 to 20 shots in with only him moving his head a bit before he will move somewhere else. It might have helped though it was close to his bed time/lights out.
This was actually the first shot I took in the series. I was at the grocery store getting greens for the bearded dragons and other stuff for myself when I crossed the little pumpkins, gourds and fall things and I got inspired to take pictures of them on a white cloth I had around the house.
I have some other ideas to do and more lizards to take pictures of if they will cooperate.

Such a pretty dragon... and such a wonderful shot too!
I have been looking wistfully at pictures of beardies wanting to have one... but I know that unless I could iron some things out about how to have it/them cared for when I am away for a week to two weeks once a year... i wouldnt want to jump into a situation that I dont know a solution to... and I dont know how much a bearded dragon would be freaked out if it and its enclosure were moved for a few weeks to another location... :/
I dont know if there are any places that can board them (for a heafty fee I am sure) ? I wouldnt want to be away from my pet ever.. but its unavoidable sometimes :(
Comments... thoughts? I hope you dont find it a bother I ask you.

Some of the local pet shops will board your lizards. I have never done so, so I dont know their costs.
My rule for leaving home is limited to 2 nights is as long as I can be gone or skip hand feeding. I'll feed insects the night before I leave, give them greens in the morning and be gone 1 day, 1 nite and another morning but be back back the afternoon to feed again.
Once they are adult and around 8-14 months old, in the winter they dont eat all that much. Right now mine wont have anything to do with crickets, will only eat their veggies and some superworms and mealworms that I handfeed them every other day. I can get away with feeding them a big bowl of veggies for 2 mornings, then feed them a few superworms the 2nd evening then greens again the next morning.. But that's just winter feeding. I'm sure by spring they will be back to eating crickets every other day in the 100's per week again or really begging for superworms.
For my whole troupe of lizards, it costs me around 50 bucks a week spring and summer to feed and light them (estimation on the lighting and heating-I have a kill-a-watts, I should test the power consumption and cost). I buy greens and veggies once a week, some of it I use in my salads as it goes bad faster than I can feed it. I buy crickets twice a week and mealworms and superworms when I need more. That's buying at petsmart.
I have tried buying bulk crickets and bulk superworms at reptile conventions. 1000 superworms lasted me 2 almost 3 months and result in a stinky mess as their saliva will make any box or egg crating putty in 3 nights and smell like ammonia. 1000 crickets lasted me almost a month, kind of stink, not as bad as the superworms. I havent tried ordering direct shipments yet. I live alone and have a hard time caring for random packages that get dropped off already. Live items probably wont make it here. I may have to have things shipped to my family's cattle/horse/farmer's feed store which might work if the shipper doesnt mind 3rd party drops. I plan to try this out in the spring as the feed store is still remodeling.
