⭐️Hello Everyone⭐️
As you all may know, RARE Protogen have a bunch of traits, some haven’t even been used before! So we wanted to visualize them in this fun chart :D of course RARE Protogen are closed and we ask you to not make one without permission, but remember we do not moderate outside of our official hubs!
All the traits have been color coded in to categories, those being:
Multi [something]- in red
Fully functional wings- in blue
Floating [something]- in pink
Head + chest panel combo- in purple
3 sets of ears- in yellow
Complex ninates- in green
Rares can be obtained via
-a Make Your Own (MYO) which will be announced on here when available~
-Official Adopts, usually by coolkoinu
-Official events, that will also be announced here

I feel like I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but I am oddly relieved that these are restricted traits. It seems like that people's Protogen designs can get really messy, really quickly if these weren't officially restricted. Even if no one follows them outside of the fandom, these are at least nifty to have demonstrated.
They ask you to refrain from making one, and to not parade it around as official or to insult the people who choose not to if you do make one is how I interpreted it.
Guidelines are there to set the boundaries of what is "canon" to the species and their world. In the case of Protogen, rares were never meant to exist, but were worked in to make people happy and to help with financial issues Koinu was having.

You're making a character of an existing species, kinda limiting your creativity off the bat...
Also, you must've missed the last post/DIscord ping back in February...
And sure, Koinu seems in more control of their finances now, but the proto adopts and MYO slots kind of take up EVERYTHING they do alongside their Patreon stuff...

I've done that with my AI character, Rai, and someone flipped that they weren't "synth enough," but I understand the point you were trying to make and raise you another. Vader-san's Synths are intentionally ambiguous to call attention to the whole classification of "synth," not just some species. Technically, my AI character is a synth as they are a synthetic character.
And to be honest, I forgot that Koinu does seem to love seeing non-canon stuff, even if they don't approve it... a big example I remember is Protogen TF. Canonically, it doesn't happen, but they still loved to see it... You'd honestly have to ask them personally if you wanted to find out why they continue with the rare stuff being restricted, though... Anything I try to come up with would just be speculation.

To be completely honest, this is NOT the story I have witnessed or experienced, mainly due to the fact that even if you guys don’t, so many others will jump to conclusions and harass owners of the species that don’t fall into neat squares. My proto breaks 3 of these rules (namely additional tails, wings, and nanite manipulation), and i’ve received a lot of harassment due to it. Regardless of your intention, be they malicious or not, these “guidelines” cause a lot of problems for them trying to express themselves, in a community about self expression.
Anything good can come with a cost. We apologies for our less then favorable past with the species moderation, and we do not stand by with any of these white knigts that harass people on our behalf.
We just ask you to consider that we have our own community that likes having these rules in place to help with their own creative journeys, and that at the end of the day, this whole thing was Koinu's personal lore, for her own story and fursona, that happen to blow out of proportions, and to this day we are still trying to keep up with it. at the end of the day, Koinu, and her whole staff team are all human. If anyone harass you for your design Protogen, please tell them that this account has permitted the use of it outside of the official hubs (ZOR Discord, and Facebook group ONLY). I apologize we can't do more.

Oh, you don't need to in order to make a protogen... you only need to in order to officially have a protogen with these traits specifically...
Official rares will have a ref sheet by Koinu themselves (and several pieces of official art, included with the MYO packages)...

Hi, I know I'm some random person leaving a comment after a month and all, but I'm just wondering because I'm stupid, when you say torso for the wings... Do you mean like the shoulders, the waist span, the chest?
Like I'm just wondering how much breathing room there is. Just seems vague IMO. Sorry. ^^;

anything above 200 cm or below 90 cm is uncommon, barring unrealistic sizes like cell sized or mountain sized, which are non canon. check out the full tait list for more info https://zoruniverse.info/
Hi there! I just wanted to know something I am a random user and mainly created an account to ask this question. I recently bought two Protogen Adopts and noticed that the two have wings; one has devil wings and the other has bird/parrot wings. And after some research and now seeing this post, I see the wings are a rare trait of Protogen. So what should I do now? Am I allowed to draw my Protogen with their wings? Or should I remove them?
We do not moderate Protogen designs outside of our official hubs, which are only the discord server and the facebook group linked in our profile. so no one should bother you even if you keep them the same. If you wish to make them canon, you can just draw them with wings smaller then the length of the torso, but that's up to you.
If you get a make your own slot via an event or by buying one when the slots are open. tho i will say, diffrent visor shapes are not a rare trait, at most they may be uncommon in certain cases but its usually common. please check out the trait list for more info https://zoruniverse.info/
Anything that's a floating rare trait is specified on this image. anything else can float like arms or legs and that would be uncommon and not rare. The rare floating traits are only the following body parts: Floating head, Floating torso and Floating head horns (not body spikes) for example.
At the moment, there are no plans to make a visual guide like this for uncommon traits. While it would be theoretically possible, there are many uncommon traits, some of which conflict with others, so such a guide would appear messy, and would likely be more confusing than helpful.
