This is the best Psyduck drawing I've seen here! This is the way he should be drawn. He's looking totally hardcore bad ass! He looks like he can knock out a group of other Pokemon right now.

Totally! Psyduck is one of the best, and I never thought he was as dopey as he's always portrayed in the cartoons.

Psyduck is the wild card Pokemon I would love to have in the collection. Maybe he just needed a better trainer to unlock his awesomeness. With the right person guiding him, he is deceptively powerful. I never liked how dopey they made him look in the cartoon. I would have been O.K. with it if they would have developed the character more in later episodes but I never saw it happen.

I was gonna say, that the only time I really saw Psyduck was way back when Misty had one. And she was definitely a terrible trainer for him!

BAH, I say!

I just remember how horrible of a trainer Misty was. Then she would blame all her losses on Psyduck. She could only win with Pokemon that were already awesome on their own.
I think I remember one episode where a much better trainer had an awesome Psyduck and Misty was jeolous. If there was an episode like that, I think I only saw it once. Could just be my imagination writing Pokemon stories that didn't happen.

Oh man, I wish I'd seen that episode! Although, it's not as though I'd seen much of the show, really. I like the pokemon themselves, but I never really got into the show other than seeing a handful of episodes.

It's actually pretty good. It's a continuing series so you should probably start with the beginning episodes. It's not a requirement to get what's going on but it can help. The Charizard episodes might be my favorite. That character hooked me in. I kind of lost interest after Ash's Charizard wasn't appearing in anymore episodes. Poochyena is my actual favorite Pokemon but they don't show that Pokemon enough to keep me locked in.

Yeah, I actually enjoyed what little of the show I watched, it was surprisingly entertaining, even though I'm an adult. I love those little monsters. They're so gosh-darn cute!

It seems like all the hyenas favorite Pokemon will either be the badassery of Mightyena or the irresistible cuteness of Poochyena. I almost didn't give this show a chance when I read the list of hundreds of Pokemon and saw no hyenas. I originally wasn't into cuteness. I got hooked into the story writing about training up and battling and the whole honor system they had. I got hooked into the cuteness later. I was kind of embarrassed for anyone to know that I was into Pokemon. I let a few friends know and nobody got what the appeal was and I had to just stop talking about it all these years until I got into the Fandom and found so many people here that are into Pokemon. I put up a box set of the tournament episodes of Pokemon for sale. A high school age boy bought it. He looked like he really wanted it but was really embarrassed to be buying it. I put it in a black bag.

Anyway, yeah, there seems to be a surprising number of high schoolers and young adults that are into Pokemon. I had the opposite experience though. Got sucked in by the adorable animals, and then realized that the show wasn't actually pretty well written. Great story about the black bag, like the kid was buying some really hideous porn or something, instead of innocent childrens' videos XD

I have to say that I can relate, I sometimes get a little embarrassed about my guilty pleasure, Sonic the Hedgehog comics (and not that Sonic X stuff, either. The ones with Princess Sally and co.). I'm embarrassingly outside of their target audience's age group, but I won't let that change the fact that I love it!

I haven't watched Pokemon on TV for a long time but I still love Pokemon a lot. I love seeing all my favorite old Pokemon showing up in fan art and new stories here on Fur Affinity. It's like getting to see old friends come back. Most of the time, the art and the writing here is better than the originals. Just like this drawing of Psyduck. It's the best I've ever seen him.
I actually still have a few of the Knuckles comics put away deep in my closet under a large duffel bag full of furry stuff. They are done in the same style as the Sonic comics that have Princess Sally. I have the 3 part mini series about the carnival and poison chili dogs. There was a dingo character that hooked me in. I haven't bought any of the comics in years but sometimes I'll scan though them if they're in a book store and I'll switch to something else if it looks like I'm going to get caught looking at it. But for some reason, I wouldn't be embarrassed to take it to the check out counter. I just haven't had the urge to buy one lately.
Lately I've also been looking though the plushy section at Toys are Us. For some reason, there's no embarrassment there, but Wal Mart gets me all nervous and I kind of just walk though and act like I'm looking for a different isle while scanning through the selection they have..

I always find it interesting what other artists will do with the basic pokemon design, it can be so crazy!

And, yeah, for some reason I never get embarrassed going to Toys R Us (or the Lego Store for that matter!), I don't know what it is about the Sonic comics, truth be told. I guess because for awhile they had some pretty atrocious writing (which has since improved). It might have something to do with the fact that the only reason my comic store actually receives that comic is because I get it each month, and mine is the only copy they actually get in!

I remember both the short-lived Knuckles series, which was really good, and I kind of regret not picking it up, when it was running. And I think I even remember the Dingo character your talking about, if it's the same one, he might have been in the first Tails mini series...Oh, man, but I'm nerding out!

The Toys are Us where I live at is carrying Sonic comics. I don't know if the other stores are doing it too. I read through the one they had. It looks like they're running out of idea of thing to do with these characters.
I should have been more specific on which dingo I was talking about. I completely forgot that the Knuckles series had a ton of different dingo characters. I got hooked in on the taxi driver dingo because I felt I kind of related to that character almost to a perfect match. The body type, age, personality, and a short military back story. He appears in other issues and series. He's kind of a recurring side character.
I think I do remember a dingo in the Tails series. I think I remember a young one that was closer to the same age as Tails. I'll probably need a reminder.

Nah, your dingo sounds cooler than the one I remember (I didn't read that far into the Knuckle's series). And looking back, there wasn't a dingo character in the Tails miniseries ^_^; I was actually think of the Kangaroo character they had! For some reason he had become a dingo in my mind!

I definitely remember a kangaroo in one of the series. Sonic kept antagonizing him calling him a wallaby.

Yep, that's the one. I think his name was Walt or something...I don't think they went to the Australia area very often though. I wish they had done a better job on the Tails miniseries. Tails has always been one of my favorites!

All the main characters are really cool, it's hard for me to pick favorites. Tails is up there for me.

I think I like him and Bunnie the best. But there's a host of others that are pretty awesome as well. Knuckles, of course, but I like some of the slightly more obscure characters too, like Dulcy the Dragon or Mighty the Armadillo. Whatever happened to him, anyway!

I completely forgot about the obscure characters! Yeah! I liked them all! Bunny had the metal stuff going on!

Bunnie was always one of the best. I know it's geeky, but I thought it was so adorable when she and Antoine got together in the comic XD

I love Bunny. She was a really cool character. I never got to see that piece of the comic story line. I always felt a little bad for Antoine because he was such a sweet character and I really thought he deserved to get together with somebody.

Yeah, I was really happy for them, Antoine could be pretty annoying, but he wasn't really a bad guy! I can't remember when they actually got together, it was probably sometime during the time when I wasn't buying the comic regularly (I might have already mentioned this, but the writing was pretty abysmal for quite some time, until fairly recently, actually). It was kinda cool that in the last issue I read we got to meet Bunnie's Dad O_o!

G-Hyena you are correct. There IS an episode where a better trainer had a much better psyduck than Misty. It was episode "Bye Bye, Psyduck" on the Orange Islands Vol.1 DVD. I know cuz its my most FAVE EPISODE EVARR! :P
I just loooove psyduck and golduck (as if you couldn't tell) and that is the best episode golduck has ever been in. Its the episode I totally fell in love with him by watching it for the first time then I just HAD to buy the DVD. XD!!!

Oh and also... POKEMON AND SONIC WILL RULE FOREVER!

Thanks so much! I like texture a lot and I actually always thought of Psyduck as more of a platypus which influenced this drawing.

And now that you've mentioned that, I'm very much reminded of the Platypus brothers from the old Tazmania cartoon. Thanks to the effect around the eyes, he bears a strong resemblence to the one that wore the glasses.

Oh man, I haven't thought about that show in forever! Hey! There were Platypus Brothers in Rocco's Modern Life as well...though, they didn't really look much like platypi!

I always took Psyduck to be more of a platypus than an actual duck, so I went with fur.
