yeh i usually do four in hand or half winds depending on the look i want, another in the repertoire is always a good thing!

Thing is, to me they all look the same. So I figure the one that's easiest and fastest to do in the morning, or to fix if it comes undone during the day (stupid filing boxes) tends to be the best option.

I was in Air Cadets for 5 years. The full windsor knot was a uniform requirement. We'd get in trouble if we had it as a half-windsor or - heaven forbid - a four-in-hand knot. I got used to it, and I really like its symmetry.

It started with those thin ties, but I got so used to it I used it with my other ties too. I admit, at first the knots were rather wide but after a while I managed to get them to a good width.

Half-windsor is for casuals. Go full or go home.

I like how insistent folks are on their full windsors. Ain't nothing wrong with a halfie on the right tie.

I mostly wear super skinny ties anymore, so if you don't give it the full, it just kind of disappears at the top. I also like the extra symmetry, but that could have something to do with me being poor at tying half-windsors that don't look lopsided 9_9

I was taught to tie a four-in-hand by my dad as a kid, so that was all I knew, growing up. I remember when I first tied a half-windsor, I was totally blown away by how much better it looked and I'VE NEVER LOOKED BACK

Haha, I have the opposite problem as far as tie size goes. If I wear a really broad tie, it takes up half of my tiny, tiny chest and I look like a sad clown <3

I try to wear clip-ons whenever I can because I have a fear of the Final Destination Noose. It sucks though because it seems like most of them are made to be as ugly as possible.

If i EVER wore a tie it would either be a western one or a clipon. They just don't do anything for me except make my neck hurt. But I totally admire those who feel / look comfortable in them.

I laughed. Course I only ever learned Full Windsor, four in hand, and bowtie.
