Well, we know the conversion formula for matter to energy, so it should reasonably go the other way too. But, that's a LOT of energy for a relatively small amount of matter! Data to matter, though, that doesn't really translate? So, it would have to be metaphysical, or some sort of cartoon thing.
Then the other thing, do they just keep getting bigger forever, or do they consume their 'fat' at some rate, so that they keep having to pack on more?
Heck, maybe it's also like Fatgum from MHA, and they can consume their fat for superpowers, but then they're not fat, and have to eat more!
