Westersloe Winterbough V may be a relatively wealthy fur, thanks to his ownership of the Vale of Elfhame, and monopoly on sales of persimmon brandy, but that doesn't mean he's loose with his purse; likely an effect of the poverty of his youth. So when he gets an idea of how much treating Estvan Silverbrush and Roland Sartoriusson at the concessions stand at Chequers Park is going to cost him, it causes a great deal of internal disquiet, the more so since he can't refuse either fur. At least Lucian Ravenmad appears to have paid for his own peach fizz...
...you'll note Estvan has not failed to order up some Kraken Jack.

This image kind of reminds me of ME when I go to the ballpark with my friends. I start off with a drink, then the peanuts, and finally I have to get my box of Cracker jack. I'm curious... Since Elfhame is landlocked, what do they use for a Kraken-Jack Mascot, seeing that Sailors are in very short supply? The image suggests a post ball player, or someone running for their life.
Kraken-Jack is a Vulpitanian snack. The Republic lies between a mountain range and a long lake. (The frozen plateau of Lengra-Cha is at the top of the mountains.) Kraken-Jack uses lake squid as one of its ingredients. The mascot is a young Vulpitanian holding his pet kraken.
