The foot thingys weren't attached to the boots, they would just put them down and stand on them for pictures.

Nope, the floor boards weren't attached to anything, they carried them around when they weren't posing.

Actually, you have to hand it to the greed-heads at Disney. How else could you sell two plastic soldiers in a bubble-pack for several dollars? You used to be able to buy 100 of the same crappy plastic soldiers in a bag for a a buck, but add "Toy Story" to the package and *profit-city!*
