[PoV Phage Story] The cold can’t reach you in here
You’re shivering in the darkness, alone at night. It’s so cold, you think you’re seconds away from hypothermia. You can’t last much longer, all alone at night outside when it’s freezing. Due to the temperature, your breathing gets quite noisy. You’re worried a creature will hear, but at least you wouldn’t die becoming a popsicle.
Suddenly, you hear wingbeats, and they’re slowly getting closer to you. Finally, you hear what sounds like landing on the grass behind you. You turn around and see an anthro female flying-fox. She’s very beautiful, emerald eyes staring right into your soul. You’re extremely frightened, considering IT IS A BAT THAT IS (probably) TALLER THAN YOU.
“I can tell you’re frightened. But I can also tell you’re suffering out here. I don’t want you to die alone like this..” She says to you. You calm down, but are very confused as to why she wants to help you. Suddenly, she wraps her wings around you and starts pulling you closer. “Don’t worry, I will let you out when you have a chance at survival.” Let you out of where?
She starts to lift you higher, your head right in front of her’s. She begins to open her mouth. Suddenly you realize what she was talking about! You’re very scared, but you have no choice but to trust her. Your head starts to make it’s way down her throat, your body slowly being pushed into her stomach by the swallowing mechanism.
Finally, you arrive to her stomach. It’s actually quite cozy, though that might just be because the other option is being alone in the open, slowly freezing. She gently rubs her gut. Even though you can’t see her face, you can tell she’s smiling. It’s warm, soft, squishy, almost like a full-body blanket.
She begins to gently whisper to you, calming you. You start to doze off to sleep, with the final words you hear before you rest being “Goodnight, my friend.”
After a good night’s sleep, you wake up, and you can see that it’s a tiny bit lighter inside her belly. It must be morning! You can hear a conversation on the outside of the tummy. “So you’re sure they’re alive in there?” “Yes, I’m sure! I can control my digestive system for the most part.” “Alright, open wide, we’re going in.”
You see light entering through the esophagus, and then you see people coming in! They take you, and ask you a few questions. After all that’s over, the bat introduces herself. “I’m Kora, it was wonderful having you stay! Would you like a ride home?” She asks. Of course, since you don’t know where you are, you say yes and tell her where you live.
“Would you like to go tucked against me under my wing or in my belly?” Your answer is obvious. She gulps you down, and takes to the sky. It’s a long flight, but after a while she finally makes it. She coughs you up in front of your door, you’re saved! You say goodbye to her, she says goodbye back, and then you walk back into your home. This is an experience you’ll never forget.
