Another day in Paradise(The Homeless mom)!!
This drawing and song is based on a little story I read, about a mother with two small children being helpless, alone and with nowhere to go!
For days she was living on the streets and with the help of a few ones, she was able to support herself and her children!
But many times she received the contempt and rejection of many, including denying her help and support... turning a blind eye and not helping in her disgrace!
When I made this drawing, I was reminded of one of Phil Collins' songs titled "Another Day in Paradise"...which exactly talks about a lady in need and homeless...a sad situation that today many are going through!
Part of of my drawing is based on this part of the lyrics:
"She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"
He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
He starts to whistle as he crosses the street
He seems embarrassed to be there...!"
We cannot deny that it still happens, we cannot be blind to a reality that many live... we can do something... it's only in our hands to help or not...Going back to the story of the homeless lady with her little children...eventually she received help, she has a home to live in and her little ones are now happy!

I often think of billionaires and people like Jeff Bezos when witnessing the gap between rich and poor... (Yes) they could change countless people's lives, and (no) the truly and desperately needy people will never receive a single dollar from said philanthropists. If you had the power to change the world for the better... wouldn't you want to?
true. these people act like everything is fine. and dont bother helping at all. And are pretty greedy. I understand now why my religion has such strict rules on money. being too rich and spoilt is sinful, leaving a neighbour hungry while being full is sinful, not helping the poor is also sinful. And now i agree with them all.
Religion can be a very good or very bad thing... There are so many churches that provide food/clothing/housing for those who cannot afford it... There are others who promote hatred, biggotry against those they find less desirable. To be apart of a church can be a wonderful thing... Just be sure it's the right church for you, and that they have genuinely good intentions.
yeah your actually very correct. some are misleading while some are true. Im muslim so ofcourse we have to provide for the poor, its an obligation, its kinda like we have no choice to not do it. Islam is against those bigotries. They say that Allah would see a poor, undesirable person with one leg hopping around, blind, def, as a VIP person because he is trying hard even if hes in such a bad situation. But a trillionair as an ordinary person. The poor in Islam are our VIP people. They go to heaven 500 years earlier than the rich - i think.
bacc, dont mind me lol but this drawing reminds me of a similar situation where we knew a homeless man, and he had a little toddler, he used to be a maid in our house before being homeless and i remember him playing with us, as i and my cousins were small toddlers back then. He never frowned or snapped infront of us and always smiled, playing with us and all. His little toddler knew how to pray, even if he was the youngest out of us all. He was a saint. I did hear some family members got him out. My mother was very wary of him and told me to get permission before playing with his toddler. but even she hated the fact that they got him out. I get sad remembering this
