I think I have to agree. Just the glasses to make her nerdy? Enh, I'm not buying it. Sexy, yes, nerdy, not really. Maybe if she had more ...geek-like gear on her belt or something.
However, that doesn't mean I don't like the artwork. Her lines are ..nice. Yes, very nice.

Glasses can be sexy when you do the "looking over the top of the frames" thing... from what I've read it's the implicit "I'm revealing myself to you" that does the trick. Apparently the same thing holds for sunglasses too ;)
