Rita, I sort of consider the Original Melody. I didn't think about Rita when I designed Melody,I hadn't seen animaniacs since i was a kid back then, but one of the earliest cartoon related moments I remember is seeing the animaniacs ep where Rita sings the song Humans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8RCa7jFDHg), and I remember it had a lot of impact on me, I couldnt understand it, where'nt cartoons suppsoed to be silly slapstick gags? actual complex emotions in TV cartoons was almost unheard of.
So Rita was prolly not a conscious influence, but she, along with a few other toons, started to get the ball rollnig that would eventually lead me to create my comic. I jsut knew the two would have to meet and exhange sarcasms eventually.
