Molasses, butterscotch, apple, or berry?
Sweet fruit filling like peaches or cherries?
Baked in a tart with some sugar on top or
covered with cream that's been whipped up a lot?
Scoops of ice cream-A little cool with the heat?
Lot's of fun flavors to go with your treat.
Do you like some coffee with your confection?
How do you take your bean predilection?
A dessert of fresh pie is a fun end to dining.
For a big piece, I know my stomach is pining.
All it takes is flour and a bit of skill at baking.
Make a great pie the world is yours for the taking.

Oooh...
I like the hidden context in there. Very much reminds me of some of the cleverer material that Roald Dahl did. (and I mean that in a good way (i.e. strictly in the sense of his writing and not in his personal views), as Dahl is another one of my childhood heroes that I have to say I admire the writing, but not necessarily the person, who created that writing... X.x )
From a writing standpoint, Dahl was great at sly subtext. ;)

I read all his books when I was around 11 as I had some neighbors who had a ton of different children's books. It's because of them I found authors like Dahl and Shel Silverstein. Their collection was rather eclectic and I think it was because they were from Germany and were part of the 60's counter-culture/feminist movement. It was a fun group to live next door to. At the same time, I never felt I was fully accepted by them as I've always been a really weird person. Despite all that I'm grateful they let me borrow their books and very much appreciate the comparison.
